Nassau, Bahamas - The 2009 Future Entertainment Promotions DJ Awards is proving to be the most highly competitive in the event’s sixth year history. By their very nature, award ceremonies come and go, but for the last five years, Future Entertainment DJ Awards have stood the test of time and sought to recognize the very best of Nassau’s DJ’s and radio industry, nationally and locally.
The first ceremony took place in the winter of 2004, at a time when there were just thirteen (13) categories and two (2) special honorees. This year’s award ceremony is expecting to be bigger than ever.
Since then, the presence of DJs in the local music industry has evolved significantly and continues to do so, making an impact on commercials, numerous forums, internet and digital platforms. It is a process that continues to recognize the creative talents reflecting the triumphs and developments of the current radio landscape. The awards also aim to identify future leading entertainers and celebrate lifetime contributions to promote love, peace and harmony.
Every year the DJ Awards has a theme. This year’s theme is Togetherness - which helps us realize our desires and turn them into reality. The awards ceremony has become an end of season tradition and will include special guest performances.
There are 38 Future Entertainment 2009 DJ Awards categories, 18 of which are given to Radio DJ’s, 20 Club Awards and general DJ Awards.

The 6th Annual DJ Awards will be taking place on Sunday, December 13th, 2009 at the National Center of Performing Arts, Shirley Street, 6:30 pm SHARP. With the online nominations closing on Sunday, December 6th, 2009, F.E.P. DJ Awards are encouraging the public to submit their nominations before its deadline.
Nominations forms are also available at various nightclub events and the daily newspapers. The public can also log onto www.dafuture.net to submit nominations.
